An APP is assigned to work alongside the physician daily from approximately 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, typically seeing patients first before coordinating with the physician; additional physician colleagues and APP coverage are available to assist with procedures and consults when inpatient volume is elevated. Call coverage is a required component of this assignment for all 7 days of the shift.
