Job summary

Korzen Health in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Gastroenterologist Hospitalist to join a 220-bed Level 3 Trauma Hospital. This hospital-based role involves inpatient GI care, endoscopic procedures, and patient rounding with no outpatient duties.

The successful candidate will perform ERCP with possible EUS experience, manage 5–10 daily procedures, and coordinate with NP support. Schedule is 7 on / 7 off, with competitive base salary and extra-shift opportunities.

Qualifications

• Board-qualified gastroenterologist with inpatient GI experience.
• Strong endoscopic skill set including ERCP; EUS preferred.
• Experience coordinating care with NP/PA teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient GI care and consultations.
• Perform advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP; EUS preferred.
• Round on inpatients and supervise GI service with team.
• Provide light night call coverage as needed.
• Collaborate with NP support during weekday rounds.

Position: Gastroenterologist Hospitalist

Location: Shreveport, LA

Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off (182 shifts per year)

Compensation: $782,600–$855,400+ base salary, with opportunities for additional compensation through extra shifts

Korzen Health is partnering with one of Northern Louisiana's largest not-for-profit healthcare systems. Due to regional growth, we are seeking an experienced GI Hospitalist to join a established team.

Facility Overview

220-bed Level 3 Trauma Hospital with an established gastroenterology department: 2 full-time and 3 part-time gastroenterologists.

Role Overview

The Gastroenterologist Hospitalist will provide comprehensive inpatient GI care, including consultation, endoscopic procedures, and patient rounding. This is a hospital-based role with no outpatient duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced ERCP procedures; EUS experience preferred but not required.
• Manage 5–10 procedures daily and approximately 8 GI consultations.
• Round on inpatients and manage the full GI inpatient service with your team.
• Provide light night call coverage as needed.
• Collaborate with NP support staff during weekday shifts for rounding and procedural assistance.

Schedule Details

• Daytime shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM with minimal night coverage.
• Flexible scheduling for pre-planned time off and vacations.
• Rotating holiday coverage—not required to work all major holidays.
