Job summary

The Salisbury VA Health Care System in Charlotte, NC is seeking a full-time Gastroenterologist to join our team at the Charlotte Health Care Center. You will provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to adult veterans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

This position offers a sign-on bonus, up to $200,000 student loan repayment through EDRP, a competitive salary, and opportunities for research collaboration through Atrium Health Wake Forest.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: U.S. citizen; non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens are not available
• Education: Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution
• Licensure: Valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.
• Residency: Completion of an accredited residency in gastroenterology
• Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible; eligible for academic appointment
• Experience: None required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to adult veterans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support nurse practitioners.
• Ensure thorough documentation and participate in committees, quality initiatives, education, and clinical research.
