Job summary

Software Placement Group (SPG) is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to join our Long Island practice. This outpatient-focused, on-site role offers flexible hours, Monday through Friday, with no on-call requirements.

The physician will provide comprehensive GI care, perform colonoscopies and EGDs, and collaborate with colorectal surgeons, oncologists, and primary care providers. Strong EMR proficiency and patient-centered care are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology or board-eligible with a clear path to certification.
• Licensed (or eligible) to practice in New York State.
• Strong diagnostic and communication skills; patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality gastroenterology care in an outpatient setting.
• Perform and interpret GI procedures (e.g., colonoscopies, EGDs) as part of full-scope GI service.
• Maintain up-to-date EMR documentation and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Overview

A physician-led, multi-specialty medical group on Long Island is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to join its growing, well-established practice. This is an outpatient-focused, on-site role with flexible hours, Monday through Friday, and no call requirements.

What you'll do

• Serve as a key clinical provider delivering high-quality, comprehensive gastroenterology care
• Conduct detailed clinical assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and interpretation of labs, imaging, and pathology reports
• Manage a high-volume, diverse outpatient population within a full-scope GI practice
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of GI disorders, including IBD, IBS, liver disease, motility disorders, and biliary tract diseases
• Develop individualized treatment plans combining pharmacological interventions and lifestyle modifications
• Perform and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures such as colonoscopies and EGDs
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) to support clinical workflow and patient safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including colorectal surgeons, oncologists, and primary care providers
• Promote preventive health strategies, especially colorectal cancer screening and chronic liver disease management
• Participate in ongoing medical education and clinical practice improvement efforts

What you'll need

• Active Board Certification (or Board Eligibility with a clear path to certification) in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology
• Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in New York State
• Strong diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills

Compensation and benefits

• $375,000 - $475,000 per year (actual salary based on qualifications, experience, and education)
