Centuri is seeking a Gas Utility Laborer in the United States to support field operations, learn essential gas utility skills, and work under a Foreman with experienced operators. The role includes on-the-job training and opportunities to develop specialized capabilities in digging, trenching, and shoring.

The position requires a valid driver’s license and a strong willingness to learn, with outdoor work in varying weather conditions and safety-focused responsibilities.

As a Gas Utility Laborer, you will receive 1-4 weeks of paid training, equipping you with the essential skills to work safely and efficiently in the field - protecting yourself, your crew, and the community. You will be led by an experienced Foreman, working alongside skilled Equipment Operators and Pipe fitters, where you will gain valuable hands‑on experience and on-the-job training to build a strong foundation in the gas utility trade.

This role provides the opportunity to develop specialized skills in areas such as excavating, trenching, shoring, and more!

Valid Driver's License, required

What You’ll Do

• Use hand tools to dig around existing utility structures to prevent damage
• Load and unload equipment and materials
• Keep worksite clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment
• Maintain all industry required Operator Qualifications
• Perform other tasks as requested by leadership

Work Environment

• Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
• All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
• Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
• Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
• Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Legal Stuff

• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
• Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-VerifySatisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is preferred
• Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
