Job summary

CoServ in Prosper, TX is seeking a Gas Service Technician to maintain, inspect, and repair natural gas service lines, meters, and related equipment. You will ensure safe and reliable delivery to residential, commercial, and industrial customers while complying with regulations.

This role covers a range from Trainee to Technician, with placement based on skill after interviews; the job involves on-call duties, field work outdoors, and strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.
• Certified in CPR and First Aid.
• Certified in those functions as required by the Operator Qualification Plan.
• Must satisfactorily complete all regulatory and company requirements/qualifications for the applicable classification prior to performing a covered task independently

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls, including gas leaks, outages, and emergency situations.
• Install, test, and maintain gas meters, regulators, and service lines.
• Conduct pressure tests and leak surveys using approved detection equipment.
• Disconnect and reconnect gas service as required.
• Enter customer homes and businesses to resolve service issues and restore gas service safely and professionally.
• Communicate efficiently with customers, supervisors, and other departments.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, responding after hours to damages and customer complaints.
• Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures, and guidelines, including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
