Job summary

American Gas Products, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Plant Assistant to support daily operations at our Middleton, MA facility.

This role participates in filling, testing, labeling, inspecting, and documenting specialty gas products for customer deliveries while upholding quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. and occasionally 76–100+ pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and work on feet for extended periods.
• Forklift certification or experience preferred
• Strong understanding of safety practices; experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow all industrial gas safety protocols, including proper PPE, cylinder labeling, handling, and hazard communication.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, FDA and company standards.
• Report unsafe conditions, leaks, damaged cylinders, or equipment abnormalities immediately.
• Participate in safety meetings, emergency drills, audits, and ongoing training.
• Load, unload, move, and sort high‑pressure gas cylinders using carts, forklifts, or pallet jacks.
• Assist in cylinder filling operations for gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, acetylene, CO₂, and specialty gases.
• Perform pre‑fill and post‑fill inspections on cylinders (valves, threads, labels, hydrostatic test dates).
• Operate plant equipment such as compressors, pumps, manifolds, cryogenic fill stations, vaporizers, and gas mixing systems, as trained and authorized.
• Assist with routine equipment checks and basic maintenance activities.
• Monitor gauges, pressure levels, liquid levels, alarms, and instrumentation.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work area.
