Job description

Charlotte Mechanical is seeking an experienced Gas Piping Skilled Installer to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a safety‑focused professional with strong technical skills and experience in natural gas and propane line installation.

Job Responsibilities

• Install gas lines and fittings for natural gas and propane systems
• Install and work with black pipe, CSST, and TracPipe
• Connect gas lines to fireplaces, outdoor grills, kitchen appliances, generators, and other natural gas appliances
• Install gas piping for related equipment according to manufacturer specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints and gas plans
• Apply and comply with North Carolina gas codes
• Maintain exceptional safety awareness of tools, testing devices, and jobsite surroundings
• Demonstrate general knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems

Requirements

• Proven experience in gas piping installation
• Strong understanding of NC gas codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical plans
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and manage unexpected situations
• Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction
• Strong time management skills and ability to complete tasks efficiently

Physical Requirements

• Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Work in varying temperature conditions (hot and cold environments)

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel overnight when needed
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Must pass a drug screen
• Must pass a criminal background check
