Job summary

AD Energy Recruitment is supporting an established Renewable Natural Gas operator in their search for a Gas Operations Technician to join their operations team.

This role involves hands‑on operation, maintenance and optimisation of gas upgrading equipment, ensuring the plant delivers pipeline quality gas safely and reliably.

You’ll work on a 12‑hour rotating swing shift, participate in on‑call rotations, and collaborate with internal teams and contractors to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience operating or maintaining equipment in industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with compressors, blowers, pumps or rotating equipment.
• Experience with SCADA or industrial control systems.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor gas upgrading and processing systems.
• Optimise plant performance to maximise production.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across the facility.
• Inspect and monitor compressors, blowers, chillers, gas pre-treatment equipment and associated process systems.
• Complete routine equipment checks including pressures, temperatures, flow rates, fluid levels and gas quality readings.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues using SCADA and plant control systems.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams and external contractors.
• Respond to plant alarms, callouts and equipment failures to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate operational records, maintenance logs and production data.
• Manage on-site spare parts and inventory.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards while ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with environmental and operational procedures.

We\'re supporting an established Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) operator in their search for a Gas Operations Technician to join their operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical background who enjoys hands‑on work in a fast‑paced industrial environment. You\'ll play a key role in keeping the gas processing facility operating safely, efficiently and reliably, helping maximise production while minimising downtime.

Working as part of a close-knit operations team, you\'ll be involved in the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and optimisation of gas upgrading equipment, ensuring the plant consistently delivers gas that meets pipeline quality specifications.

What you\'ll be doing

What we\'re looking for

• Previous experience operating or maintaining equipment within an industrial, manufacturing, power generation, RNG, biogas, wastewater, oil & gas or similar process environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault‑finding skills.
• Experience working with compressors, blowers, pumps or rotating equipment.
• Comfortable using SCADA or other industrial control systems.
• Basic electrical knowledge is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
• Good understanding of pressure, flow and process systems.
• Valid driver\'s licence.
• Experience working within a 24/7 production environment is preferred.

Shift Pattern

• 12-hour rotating swing shift.
• Participation in an on‑call rota, including occasional nights and weekends.
