Job summary

USIC Locating Services, LLC is seeking an outdoor‑oriented Locator for its Advanced Gas Operations division. You will perform field locates using company equipment, mark the area, and ensure clear, safe excavations for utilities.

No prior locating experience is required, but safety and accuracy are essential. You will work daytime, full‑time shifts with overtime and on‑call duties as needed, supported by paid training and a comprehensive benefits package.

• Able to travel locally and some overnight travel may be expected.
• Pass a drug screen; this is a safety‑sensitive position.

Our Advanced Gas Operations (AGO) division provides dedicated service to our gas customers. Our technicians spend their workdays on the go, independently working in the field using their company-provided vehicle. We use best-in-class ticket and claims management systems to ensure clear and complete mark-out services for the excavator or property owner at the work site.

Your Responsibilities as a Locator:

• Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in a designated areaand mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure.Some hand digging to unearth gas lines may be required.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of underground utility infrastructure.
• Follow all company, client, state, and federal damage prevention guidelines.
• As a technician in our Advanced Gas Operations division, you may locate otherutilities in addition to gas lines, depending upon the project to which you areassigned.

These are daytime, full-time positions. We have a 48-hour turnaround time on many locates, which means we generally work the day after holidays and some weekends, as needed. Must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts (including nights and weekends), dependent upon the needs of the business.

What We Need from You (Our Requirements):

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected.
• Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bendand stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Proficiency with technology
• Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints; possess basic math skill to calculate distances.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners. Customer service experience is a plus.
