Job summary

Peak Utility Services Group is hiring a Gas Fuser to install and service natural gas distribution systems for new construction subdivisions. The role requires assembling pipes, welding/fusing connections, inspecting systems, and adhering to all safety protocols.

Travel to out-of-town projects is possible about 10% of the time. Qualified candidates will have 2–3 years in construction or gas distribution, Poly Gas Fuser experience is a plus, and a CDL Class A with tanker endorsement is preferred

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in construction, underground, or gas distribution.
• Poly Gas Fuser experience is a huge plus.
• 2–3 years of fusing/welding experience and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Install new plastic PVC and steel gas main services.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings by welding, brazing, or soldering.
• Inspect and test installed systems with gauges and observations.
• Plan pipe layouts and installations from blueprints.
• Drive and operate commercial vehicles to job sites.
• Ensure proper licenses, tags, and proof of insurance.
• Coordinate with equipment operators for alignment and movements.
• Work safely around heavy machinery and keep sites hazard-free.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and timely.
• Maintain commitment to safety in all work activities.

Essential Functions

We seek a detail-oriented, safety sensitive, driven Fuser to join our growing team. As a Fuser, daily work will involve installation of natural gas distribution systems for new construction subdivisions.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Installation of new plastic PVC & steel gas main services
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications by welding, brazing, soldering, etc.
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauges, observation, and other methods.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, and repairs according to specifications listed on blueprints.
• Drives commercial vehicles equipped to transport a variety of materials and equipment.
• Ensures the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance.
• Signal's equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks
• Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Complete daily paperwork in an accurate manner
• Commitment to safety in all work

Success Factors

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, grasp, push, pull and reach on a frequent basis throughout the day.
• Must be able to lift-up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Time management skills
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Required to travel out of town to work on projects of varying length approximately 10% of the time.
• CDL Class A license with tanker endorsement preferred.
• Valid DOT Medical Card required.

Experience And Education

• 2-3 years of experience in the construction, underground or gas distribution industry
• Poly Gas Fuser experience is a huge plus
• 2-3 years of experience with fusing/welding methods and techniques

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment.
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
