Job summary

System One is seeking a Gas Distribution Engineer in Denver, CO for a 12-month contract. The hybrid role combines onsite and remote work with responsibilities spanning planning, design, cost estimating, and regulatory compliance for gas infrastructure projects.

Experience is not strictly required, but a minimum of 2 years preferred. CAD proficiency and strong communication skills are essential to collaboration with PM, operations, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (BS) required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD programs.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated with strong organization skills.
• No previous experience required, but a minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid environment with site visits to field locations with PPE and safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, design, and execution of gas infrastructure projects.
• Assist with project scoping, engineering design, cost estimating, regulatory compliance, and construction support for pipeline assets.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Operations, and external vendors to ensure project safety, efficiency, and CFR standards and internal policies.
• Update project tracking lists with current statuses.
• Prepare design drawings and service spreadsheets.
• Research existing asset information and prepare/review operating procedures.
• Prepare project Stage Gate documentation.
• Attend meetings such as Project CFT’s, trainings, staff meetings, and coordination sessions.
