Job summary

Delta Utilities is seeking a Design Consultant to coordinate gas service with builders, developers and customers. You will determine gas loads, verify equipment specs and prepare drawings for distribution facilities while ensuring compliance with regulations.

The role involves preparing cost estimates, developing designs for capital projects and serving as a liaison among customers, engineering and construction teams to meet timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Able to comprehend, document, calculate, visualize and analyze.
• Proficient with PC software including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
• Must be able to learn and apply DOT CFR 192 regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Meet with builders, developers or their representatives to coordinate actions for gas service.
• Determine customer gas loads and metering requirements.
• Verify equipment type, size, and location; review facilities for compliance with regulations; stake proposed facilities.
• Prepare construction sketches, layouts and drawings of existing and proposed distribution facilities.
• Prepare estimates of cost for material and labor for projects with development customers.
• Identify project requirements and complete designs and work activities for gas distribution capital programs.
• Monitor construction progress and liaise between customer and construction departments to ensure timely completion.
