Job summary

TC Energy is seeking a full-time Control Center Operator in the United States to ensure safe, reliable operation of pipeline systems. You will follow CRM plans, monitor alarms, and manage nominations while maintaining documentation and shift handovers across facilities including backup locations in Houston and Bryan, TX.

The role requires a high school diploma (college degree preferred), knowledge of gas hydraulics, and a DOT Operator Qualification.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma; 3 years of natural gas experience may substitute for a degree.
• Knowledge of gas hydraulics and compressors.
• Must obtain DOT Operator Qualification certification per company program.
• Able to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to stay calm in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient operations of compressor stations, meter stations and pipelines.
• Identify and mitigate abnormal operating conditions.
• Monitor alarms and respond per protocol.
• Process nominations and imbalances without bias.
• Document shift information per standards and communicate during shift changes.
• Assist in troubleshooting operating tools in the Control Center.

The Opportunity

This full working-level Control Center position will independently follow established methods, Control Room Management Plan (CRM) and procedures to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the U.S. Pipeline systems.

What you'll do

• Will ensure the safe and efficient operations of compressor stations, meter stations and pipeline systems at all times through the execution of daily operating plans
• Will identify, analyze and take appropriate action to mitigate abnormal operating conditions at compressor stations, meter stations and pipeline systems
• Will monitor and respond to alarms as per established protocol
• Will process customer nominations and imbalances in a non-discriminatory manner
• Will follow Document Standard for documenting all relevant operational information during the shift and Responsibility Transfer Procedure to communicate all operationally significant information during shift change
• Will assist in the troubleshooting of various operating tools used in the Control Center

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma-Three years of natural gas industry experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
• Must have a working-level knowledge of gas hydraulics and compressors
• Must obtain D.O.T. Operator Qualification certification through the successful completion of the Company's testing and evaluation program within the prescribed timeframe
• Must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Must be conscientious, attentive and able to work well with others in a team environment
• Must possess effective communication skills and the ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations
• Must possess strong mathematical, analytical and computer skills
• Must be proficient in most Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

College degree or technical school diploma is preferred

*This position requires candidates to:

• Have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Provide a driver's abstract for review
• This position requires occasional travel and the ability to operate out of either of our backup locations in Houston and Bryan, TX.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
