Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a strategic Reliability Engineer to lead reliability programs across Austin and Taylor sites, optimizing equipment availability, safety and performance. You will drive KPI-based improvements, guide maintenance strategies, and interface with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a strong background in reliability concepts (FMEA, MTBF/MTTR), project management, and experience with semiconductor operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Reliability Engineering experience driving equipment lifecycle improvements.
• Experience with reliability concepts and maintenance approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead GCS implementation of Infra wide reliability programs for equipment owned by GCS.
• Develop short and long-term strategies for reliability programs with defined scope and timelines.
• Develop and continuously improve GCS Equipment Management KPIs (PM ratio, MTBF, MTTR).
• Implement and sustain reliability programs such as RCM, RCA, CAPA, and DfR.
• Standardize expectations and own the GCS Asset Life Cycle Process from Installation to EOL.
• Review CapEx projects for reliability ROI.
• Assist in planning QA/QC for new facilities construction and modifications.
• Optimize maintenance process efficiency through best practices.
• Assist teams with failure analysis, 8D, RCA and CAPA reviews.
• Develop and maintain program documents such as SOPs and specifications.
• Assist in external and internal audits to ensure safety and reliability of equipment.
• Lead rollout of Reliability Software Solutions for program management.
• Coordinate with reliability experts to benchmark with SAS and HQ.
• Direct and mentor new and junior engineers.

Position Summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking strategic Reliability Engineer to spearhead the implementation of reliability programs/systems for the GCS organization across both Austin & Taylor sites. This pivotal role is responsible for optimizing the entire asset lifecycle-from installation through end of life-to maximize equipment availability, safety and operational performance. The ideal candidate will combine advanced reliability metrics with robust project management to align stakeholders across organization and drive operational success.

The current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

This position may include access to controlled information or technology under U.S. export control laws.
