Job summary

Vestis Corporation in South Bend, IN is seeking a warehouse associate to join our industrial laundry team. You will be responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and out of the facility, following a defined garment numbering and shipping schedule.

You will learn the GID system, sort garments by route, hang items by batch, report issues to supervision, monitor quality, and help maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math skills.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule.

Responsibilities

• Becomes familiar with the garment numbering system (GID) and shipping schedule board.
• Follows a shipping schedule and separates garments into routes for specific sort area.
• Removes garments from supply rail and places on the appropriate conveyor by route.
• Hangs shirts by route and pants before next batch.
• Removes odd garments and places them on the correct space on the odd numbered garment bar.
• Informs the supervisor of any quality, mechanical, or shipping problems.
• Watches end of the supply bars for falling garments and re-hangs as needed.
• Stops the line when jams or problems occur and for breaks.
• Monitors garments for wrinkles and rejects items not meeting quality standards.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment, follows best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
