Job summary

Harborview Medical Center in Seattle is seeking a Gardener 2 to support the skilled trades and facilities team. You will maintain plants, manage weeds, and operate irrigation systems to keep grounds healthy and attractive.

This 100% FTE role offers a regular daytime schedule, benefits, and work-life balance, with no telework. You will also handle waste, cleaning, pruning, and basic landscape maintenance using hand and power tools, contributing to a safe campus environment.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform required work.
• One year of experience or training involving grounds maintenance, plant care, cultivation and landscape installation.
• May require valid State of Washington driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plants and manage weeds, including invasive and noxious species.
• Operate, maintain, and repair irrigation systems and timers.
• Maintain campus waste such as trash and recycling.
• Clean hard surface areas and perform snow/ice removal as needed.
• Prune trees, shrubs, vines, and perennials for health and form.
• Use hand and power implements and power equipment.
