Job summary

INTERMOUNTAIN FARMERS ASSOCIATION operates a Country Store in Ogden, Utah, seeking a Garden Center Specialist with nursery/greenhouse experience and a passion for trees, shrubs, and garden plants. This seasonal role (March-June) offers 30-40 hours per week and a chance to help customers grow and maintain greenery.

The ideal candidate can lift up to 50 lbs, stand for eight hours, and brings strong organizational and interpersonal skills for a busy garden center environment.

Qualifications

• High diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Nursery or greenhouse experience desired but not required.
• A passion and excitement for a variety of different plants and green goods.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. often throughout shift.
• Able to be on feet for eight hours during shift.
• Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills with multi-tasking capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Increase garden center sales by presenting a professionally merchandised, clean and well-maintained garden center
• Ensure plants and green goods are watered and cared for each day
• Provide excellent customer service by helping customers on proper care for trees, shrubs, bushes and other garden center plants
• Maintain appropriate levels of inventory on products in the store
• Look for opportunities to increase average sales amount per transaction by implementing effective sales and cross-selling techniques

INTERMOUNTAIN FARMERS ASSOCIATION, a regional agricultural cooperative, is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of GARDEN CENTER SPECIALIST at the IFA Country Store in Ogden, Utah.

SUMMARY: We are searching for someone who has experience working in a nursery or greenhouse setting who can make great additions to our team. Ideally, we would like to find someone who has such a passion for trees, shrubs, garden plants, and other green goods that. Someone who is about plants and can help others how to successfully grow and maintain them. This could be a seasonal (March-June) 30-40 hour a week position.
