Job summary

Stinchcomb Associates is seeking energetic Garden Center Merchandisers to support our Home Depot location in Amsterdam, NY. This seasonal role focuses on arranging live shrubs, trees, roses, and seasonal goods according to planograms while delivering friendly, knowledgeable customer service.

Work 15–25 hours weekly with a seasonal layoff before Christmas and return in February or March. You will maintain displays, help customers, and uphold plant health standards to maximize sales.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication & organizational skills.
• Positive attitude.
• Able to stand, walk, kneel, squat, and bend over throughout the day.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
• Reliable transportation & valid driver's license.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Display plant material according to set standards.
• Build, set up and take down seasonal displays.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the garden center.
• Maintain and help sell plant material, including watering, signing, and pruning.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, store employees and service teams.

Schedule & Seasonal Information

This is a seasonal role. Hours fluctuate based on seasonal demand, typically 15-25 hours per week. A layoff period occurs about one week before Christmas, with work resuming in February or early March.

The Role

We are seeking self-motivated, detail-oriented Merchandisers to enhance the visual appeal and organization of our retail garden centers. You will be responsible for following planograms to ensure the effective presentation and maintenance of live shrubs, trees, roses, and seasonal items. By maintaining high standards of plant care and providing exceptional customer service, you will play a key role in maximizing sales.
