Job summary

The Cottage Gardens Inc. is seeking a seasonal merchandiser to act as a field representative, creating and maintaining attractive plant displays at customers' locations. This role involves physical tasks and communicating with store associates, regional managers, and The Cottage Gardens staff.

Merchandisers are expected to work a minimum of 10 hours per week and may travel between stores. A reliable transportation method and ability to work in varied weather are required.

Qualifications

• Seasonal position.
• Minimum of 10 hours per week.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and overhead lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to perform heavy pushing and pulling of racks.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work in inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Unload and maintain products for The Cottage Gardens and other vendors.
• Assist with building garden center benches and parking lot corrals.
• Create and replenish sign displays with Home Depot approved signing.
• Build special event displays and execute promotions and pricing.
• Assist management with special projects.
• Maintain plan-o-gram integrity.
• Provide routine care of plant material (deadheading, pruning, watering).
• Condense and cull product to maintain displays.
• Work a flexible schedule as directed by regional supervisor.
• Travel between stores may be required.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Adhere to appropriate attire and work ethic (no open-toed shoes).

JOBDESCRIPTION:

• The merchandiser will act as a field representative for The Cottage Gardens Inc. The purpose of this position is to create and maintain great looking plant displays at our customer’s location. This job requires the merchandiser to perform physical tasks as well as maintain communication with store associates, regional managers and The Cottage Gardens staff.
• This is a seasonal position. Merchandisers are expected to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• The person must be physically able to lift 50lbs total, and 20lbs over their head.
• This position requires heavy pushing and pulling of shipping racks.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be willing to work in inclement weather (rain, snow, wind)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Responsibilities include the following essential functions-other duties may be assigned.

• Merchandisers would be responsible for unloading and maintaining all products from The Cottage Gardens and other vendors as needed.
• Assist with the building of incised Garden Center benches and parking lot corrals.
• Create and replenish sign displays with Home Depot approved signing.
• Building special event displays and proper signing/Executing promotions and special event pricing.
• Assist management with special projects.
• Maintain plan-o-gram integrity.
• Routine care of plant material (deadheading, pruning, watering, etc.)
• Maintaining all displays by condensing and culling product.
• Must work a flexible schedule as provided to them by their regional supervisor.
• Travel may be required between stores.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Appropriate attire and work ethic are essential (no open-toed shoes).
