A1 Garage Door is seeking a hands-on technician who thrives in hot garages and cold warehouses to diagnose, repair, and install garage door systems. You will interact with homeowners professionally and close repairs through effective selling, earning commissions based on your success.

The role requires lifting, bending, climbing, and enduring extreme temperatures. A robust training program spans six weeks, including a local start and a Phoenix Academy phase, with travel covered as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+, valid license, 3+ years driving record.
• Able to lift 75 lbs., bend, climb, kneel, work in extreme temps.
• Some hands-on mechanical experience or comfort with tools.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal background check, drug test (THC excluded) and driving record.
• Basic tech comfort (apps, tablets); reading/math for measurements and payments.
• No sales experience required; we teach that.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on repair and installation of garage door components (springs, cables, rollers, openers, motors).
• Diagnose problems and discuss solutions with homeowners like a pro.
• Sell effectively; commission-based compensation based on closing homeowner agreements.

Job description

This is hands-on mechanical work, hot garages and all, not a sales job with some lifting. You'll diagnose the problem, talk to the homeowner like the pro they trust, then fix it yourself.

We want someone who puts people first: down-to-earth, dependable, easy to talk to, plus a strong work ethic and the grit to do physical work daily. We'll teach you to sell.

The Job

Physical work, every day: springs, cables, rollers, openers, motors. You repair and install it all. Lifting 75+ lbs., bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, working in 100°F garages and freezing ones. Hands-on from first job to last.

Selling isn't optional, it's the job: no sale means no repair, no repair means no paycheck. This is commission-based, so every dollar you make starts with a homeowner trusting you enough to say yes. We'll teach you how to earn that yes. You bring the desire to close.

Before You Apply

This location operates with expanded service hours to support increased capacity and customer demand. Team members may be scheduled for shifts from 6AM to 4PM, 8:30AM-6:30PM or 11AM to 9PM, with assignments based on performance and seniority. The facility is open seven days a week, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including weekends.
