Halls Garage Doors, a division of OGD Overhead Garage Door, seeks a motivated Garage Door Installer Apprentice to join our team in Southwest Virginia, with offices in Christiansburg. This entry-level role offers hands-on training under experienced technicians in installation, service, and repair of commercial garage doors and related systems.

You will assist with installations, learn to handle springs, tracks, rollers, and hardware, and contribute to a safe, efficient work environment on-site.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Reliable transportation to report to the shop and job sites.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade.
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead technicians with installation, service, maintenance, and repair of commercial garage doors and related equipment.
• Support repairs involving springs, cables, tracks, rollers, operators, and hardware components.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies from company vehicles.
• Perform basic construction and installation tasks under direct supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all job sites.
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly when authorized.
• Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

• Complete other duties and projects as assigned
