Job summary

Exploding Kittens LLC is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and refine dielines, box sizing, and packout for new games. This part-time, temporary contract covers 15-20 hours per week and supports multiple products through a three-month term.

You will collaborate with Art, PMO, and Production to ensure packaging is functional, durable, and cost-efficient, review BOMs, create custom die lines, and push for material and process improvements while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Packaging Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Illustrator and InDesign; CAD/3D modeling a plus.
• Experience in packaging design for consumer products, toys, or games.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, processes and dielines.

Responsibilities

• Develop dielines, box sizing, and packout solutions for new games.
• Review BOMs to determine appropriate game box sizing and internal components.
• Propose insert tray structures and cost-efficient packout options.
• Collaborate with Art, PMO, and Production to meet goals and quality standards.
• Review die lines and provide feedback on structural changes before production.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency without compromising quality.
• Maintain organized files with proper naming conventions.
