Job description

We believe the best technology engineers ask why before they ask how, and that's the Game Developer we're recruiting in Orem. The right playfully-serious candidate will own outcomes, mentor peers, and earn $78,000 - $105,000 in this mid-level temporary position.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor the mid-level cohort through their first real Node.js on-call at ByteForge Labs
• Build GraphQL self-service tools so Orem teams stop filing tickets for everything
• Re-architect the technology flow so PHP handles ten times Orem's current load
• Shave milliseconds off the technology hot path that ByteForge Labs users feel every click
• Design Django APIs other Orem, UT teams will still thank you for next year
• Scale ByteForge Labs's GraphQL services from Orem pilot to UT-wide rollout
• Partner with QA to define test coverage and catch regressions early

What You'll Bring

• Critical thinking skills and sound, independent judgment
• Comfort owning the unglamorous middle of a temporary project
• Flexibility to adapt your approach as business needs evolve
• At least 5 years of standing behind your own estimates
• 3 years of learning when to trust the process and when to break it

ByteForge Labs blends Go and Kafka into technology products that feel, in the results-oriented words of its Orem, UT founders, inevitable. Learning out loud is encouraged here, so share the PHP rabbit hole you fell down yesterday.

This mid-level role pays $78,000 - $105,000 and surrounds it with coaching, coverage, and hours that respect your weekends in UT.

Right now in Orem, the Game Developer chair sits open and the door is unlocked.

Your Django deserves a stage bigger than your current one, and ByteForge Labs has it.
