Job summary

Shelton State Community College seeks a Game Design Coordinator to lead the Short-Term Certificate program in game design and development. You will oversee curriculum, scheduling, and assessment, and work with faculty and industry partners to deliver hands-on learning across design, development, interactive media, and related tech.

Responsibilities include teaching up to nine credit hours, maintaining records, advising students, managing resources, and aligning offerings with industry standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
• Experience with Game Maker Studio, Unity, and Unreal Engine.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with Canvas LMS.
• Academic coursework or work experience in Python, Java, or C++.
• Coursework In Game Designs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of using game design development tools, equipment, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the Short-Term Certificate (STC) Game Design program, including curriculum planning, scheduling, and program assessment.
• Demonstrate and maintain a high level of competence and expertise in game design and development teaching fields.
• Develop, revise, and maintain course content in game design, game development, interactive media, and related technologies to align with industry standards.
• Submit course plans to the Division Chair and coordinate with them on program growth.
• Assist the Division Chair with budget development and class scheduling to support institutional goals.
• Teach up to nine (9) credit hours in game design and development using current software and instructional best practices.
• Maintain attendance, scholastic, and personnel records and submit by deadlines.
