Job summary

Lindsay Corporation in Lindsay, Nebraska is seeking a Galvanizing Technician to operate equipment that chemically cleans metal parts to prepare them for galvanizing. You will load objects on cranes or racks and inspect finished pieces to ensure standards are met, while following safety rules and reporting hazards.

The role requires willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb and reach; able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions (cold, heat, noise, dust).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willingness to wear PPE (boots, eyewear, hard hats, gloves, ear protection).

Responsibilities

• Load objects on cranes/racks to pass through chemical cleaning and rinsing baths.
• Examine cleaned objects to ensure standards are met.
• Follow safety rules and report hazards/injuries to Team Leader.
• Work overtime and weekends as required by Team Leader.

Position Summary

A galvanizing production worker will run equipment that chemically cleans grease, scale, dirt, and other foreign matter from the metal objects to prepare them for the galvanizing process.

Essential Functions

• Load objects on cranes and on racks or containers that will be carried through a series of chemicals and rinsing baths.
• Examine cleaned objects to ensure standards are met.
• Must follow safety rules and regulations, including the reporting of any hazards, violations or injuries to your Team Leader, no matter how minor.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required by the Team Leader to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Must be able to adhere to Lindsay policies and procedures, while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Must be willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, (push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs.) and reach to perform job functions
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with conditions including but not limited to cold, heat, bright sun, noise, and nuisance dusts
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (metguard boots, protective eyewear, hard hats, gloves, ear plugs, etc)
