Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Transportation.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Attends annual DOE School Bus Driver Safety meeting.
• Attends all school bus training programs and courses as prescribed by the State of Georgia or the Stephens County Board of Education.
• Maintains orderly conduct of student passengers, remain alert to students’ needs and interact appropriately.
• Assists with conducting emergency evacuation drills as directed by the Transportation Department.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with school staff and public.
• Completes required reports legibly and accurately in the prescribed manner and on a timely basis.
• Provides maximum safety for passengers while on the bus and during loading/unloading, which could include evacuation of students from a bus in case of an emergency.
• Assists with medical procedures for students.
• Maintains a good working relationship with driver.
• Maintains proper storage of all student equipment.
• Works effectively and cooperatively with administrators, teachers and staff.
• Handles all duties in a timely and organized manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
