Job summary

Pacific University in Forest Grove seeks a part-time FWS Sustainability Team Member for the Center for a Sustainable Society (AuCoin 110). This position is open only to current Pacific University students and aims to promote sustainable practices on and off campus.

You'll join a student team to create, organize, and promote events, brainstorm signature initiatives, and raise awareness of issues identified by team members, with opportunities to start new teams.

Qualifications

• Creative, positive thinking and enthusiasm for campus initiatives.
• Qualified for federal work study funding for the 2026-27 academic year (preferred, but not required)

Responsibilities

• Create, organize, and promote campus events encouraging sustainable living.
• Promote awareness of issues identified by the team.
• Collaborate with existing teams such as Bicycle/Transportation, Power Plant, Environmental Policy, and Lower Carbon Footprint.

Purpose of Position: This position will work with other team members to promote sustainable practices on and off campus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of this job are to create, organize, and promote events and activities on campus that encourage students to live more sustainably. Students will work with team members to brainstorm and organize signature events and/or practices that bring awareness to important issues identified by the team members. Some examples of promotion teams are the Bicycle/Transportation team, the Power Plant team, the Environmental Policy team, and the Lower Carbon Footprint team. Students can create new teams based on their interest or join existing ones.

Length of employment: Positions can last one semester or across the academic year. They can also begin part way through a semester.
