Job summary

Fort Bend ISD in Texas seeks a Teacher Aspiring for a one-year developmental assignment. The role focuses on planning and implementing instructional programs, assessing student achievement, and preparing for Texas teacher certification.

This is a non-contracted, current-year position with potential placement into a full-time role upon certification. Responsibilities include planning instructional activities, managing student behavior, and collaborating with staff while pursuing ACP certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree upon hire.
• Course work in the subject/program and curriculum/methods preferred.
• Actively enrolled in a Texas-approved ACP or recently completed EPP.
• Coursework complete (except testing/observation hours).
• ACP enrollment < 2 years at hire.
• No more than one failed exam, or two with current approval.
• ACP approval to test for SPED EC–12, Bilingual Education or Core Subject EC-6 with STR.
• Documentation of eligibility for a Program Deficiency Plan (at applicant's expense).
• Must not have previously held an Emergency Permit.
• Must submit documentation to verify coursework, certification status, and observation hours.
• Failure to meet certification requirements may lead to removal.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and align with goals.
• Monitor and document student achievement and progress.
• Plan and deliver instruction considering diverse learning styles.
• Manage classroom behavior to create a conducive learning environment.
• Coordinate testing and instructional activities with staff.
• Use multi-media and technology to enhance learning.
• Communicate with parents about student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff development.
