Qualifications

• Requires equivalent to the completion of four years of college; up to two years of police investigative or law enforcement experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• Two years of experience using methods and techniques of criminal investigations.
• Two years of experience preparing properly documented reports.
• Two years of experience working with accounting and auditing principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, participate in an IDOR training program to develop broad knowledge and skills for Revenue Special Agent duties.
• Conduct increasingly difficult investigative assignments to gain experience and refine working skills.
• Receive formal training on tax laws, firearms, investigative techniques, rules of evidence, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required within the scope of the job description.
