Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a Systems Analyst (Robotic Control Engineer) for the Ion Endoluminal System. You will generate, tune, and debug key algorithms and build tools supporting these algorithms across robotics software and hardware domains.

Ideal candidates have strong C/C++/Matlab skills, experience with electromechanical integration, and a PhD or MS in robotics-related field, with 5+ years in related work. This onsite role emphasizes collaboration and rigorous analysis.

Job Description
Primary Function of Position

Systems Analysts (Robotic Control Engineers) are primarily responsible for generating, tuning, and debugging the key algorithms associated with Intuitive Surgical products and providing technical analytic assistance to other engineering groups. As a member of the Systems Analyst team working on the Ion Endoluminal System (Intuitive’s platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the peripheral lung), you will work on both robotic algorithms and the development of tools and software infrastructure that support those algorithms. The successful candidate will have the technical depth to manage deep analysis problems and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team to drive future designs and improvements into the product.

Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training
  • C/C++ and Matlab programming skills. Knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Demonstrate sound engineering judgment and technical skills in problem solving – both software and hardware.
  • Experience in hardware and software integration of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Demonstrate intuitive understanding of mechanical phenomena with ability to do rigorous modeling and analysis.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and work autonomously when necessary.
  • PhD (preferred) or MS in robotics‑related field.
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience in related field.

We provide market‑competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $164,000 - $236,000

Base Salary Range Region 2: $139,400 - $200,600

Workplace Type: Set Schedule – This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
