Job summary

Core & Main in Houston is seeking an experienced HDPE piping fusion technician. You will operate field equipment including forklifts, assess installation needs, and perform fusion and welding tasks on HDPE piping systems.

This role requires driving a company or personal vehicle and may include on-call emergencies. Travel is rare and you will participate in vehicle checks, follow safety protocols, and ensure final products meet quality standards while maintaining clear communication with

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma or GED; 2-5 years in piping/installation preferred.
• Experience with HDPE piping fusion and related repair systems.
• Welding experience with electrofusion and structural welding preferred.

Job Summary

Operates equipment that fuses piping. This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, Core & Main will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Determines if final product meets quality control standards.

Nature and Scope

• Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
• Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Work Environment

• Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in electro fuse and structure welding.
