Job summary

Georg Fischer Central Plastics LLC is seeking a manufacturing operator to support fusion processes in our United States facility. You will read blueprints, interpret SOPs, operate fusion machines, and maintain quality standards while following safety and ISO procedures.

You must be able to lift, work with precision, and pass fusion certifications within 90 days. A high school diploma and solid attendance are required; experience with PE fusion and measuring tools is a plus, and teamwork is

  • Thorough, accurate and works error free.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts and procedures.
  • Able to select proper components for a work center.
  • Must become certified in plastic fusion processes within 90 days.
  • At least 90 days of manual PE fusion experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of all fusion machines in the department.
  • Able to use measurement tools specific to the area.
  • Good attendance and employment in good standing (no final warning or suspension).
  • No 3 or more non-conformances during a rolling 12 month period.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
  • Meet or exceed production standards daily.
  • Read and interpret blueprints as required.
  • Maintain quality standards including in-process testing logs.
  • Pass annual fusion certification examinations to remain qualified.
  • Assemble components per work instructions and SOPs.
  • Verify fusion equipment is in good condition and functioning as designed.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 requirements.
  • Support EH&S programs and maintain a safe working environment.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities
  • Required to understand and follow all safety procedures.
  • Required to understand and follow all company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Required to understand and follow work procedures as set forth by all ISO documentation.
  • Required to meet or exceed production standards of all work centers daily.
  • Read and interpret blueprints whenever required by operation.
  • Required to maintain quality standards on all products daily including in process testing log sheets.
  • Required to be certified to perform fusion on various diameters and SDRs of PE Pipe and fittings and have at least 90 days of experience with GFCP.
  • Required to pass annual fusion certification examinations in order to remain qualified for this position.
  • Assemble components as required by work instructions and SOPs.
  • Must be able to verify that all fusion equipment is in good condition and performing as designed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Clean, label and box products in department as needed.
  • Support and participate in the overall EH&S programs.
  • Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor.
  • No more than 4.5 points.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements.
Knowledge and Skill Requirement
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Thorough, accurate and works error free.
  • Knowledge of commonly‑used concepts, practices and procedures within manufacturing environment.
  • Able to select the proper component parts required for a work center.
  • Required to be or become certified in various plastic fusion processes (butt, electro, sidewall, plug & socket) within 90 days.
  • At least 90 days of manual PE fusion experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of all fusion machines in the department.
  • Must be able to understand and utilize measurement tools that are specific to that area or product.
  • Must have good attendance record and employment in good standing (no final warning or suspension)
  • May not have 3 or more non‑conformances during a rolling 12 month period to qualify for this role.
Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions

Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in a safe manner. Must be able to perform repetitive motion. Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for extended period of time. Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required). Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required). Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts. Exposure to sparks, chips and dust (eye protection required). Exposure to extreme seasonal temperature conditions. Must be capable of maintaining a 40-hour workweek and working overtime as needed.
