Job summary

TAE Technologies seeks a Scientist in Plasma Fueling and Wall Conditioning to contribute to the Particle Control Group within the Experimental Section. You will help develop and operate plasma fueling and wall conditioning systems, design experiments, and analyze data for publications. Ph.D.

in Physics or related field is required, with postdoctoral experience preferred. This IC role offers growth, collaboration across groups, and opportunities to influence future fusion devices in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Required: Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field (new graduates welcome to apply).
• Preferred: Postdoctoral research experience in plasma physics or a closely related field.
• Candidates should bring depth in at least one or two specified areas and familiarity across the rest.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, operation, and continuous improvement of plasma fueling systems (e.g., cold gas injection, pellet injection).
• Support and maintain wall conditioning systems for particle recycling control (titanium gettering, glow discharge cleaning).
• Design and execute experiments focused on particle transport, wall conditions, and plasma-material interactions.
• Provide regular analysis and reporting of system data; contribute to scientific publications.
• Collaborate with the Particle Control Group and across technical groups in a matrixed project environment.
• Contribute to planning and design of future fusion devices with fueling and plasma-wall interface focus.
• Maintain responsibility for test stands within the group's scope.
• Occasionally represent TAE in conferences, collaborations, or recruiting events.
