Job summary

Helion, a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead cross-subsystem integration of generator prototypes. This hands-on role reports to a Mechanical Engineering Lead and is onsite at our Everett headquarters.

You will own the integration sequence, manage a multidisciplinary build schedule, define and execute subsystem tests, and collaborate with production, test, and engineering teams to improve build processes and uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
• 3+ years delivering full-scope engineering projects with schedule ownership.
• Strong problem-solving using first-principles.
• Hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, and fluids domains.
• Effective technical communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own integration sequence and day-to-day assembly execution across generator subsystems.
• Develop and manage multidisciplinary build schedules.
• Define and execute integrated subsystem tests with owners.
• Lead build completion reviews for readiness and test preparedness.
• Collaborate with production, test, and engineering to improve processes.
• Author work instructions for technicians.
• Lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions during integration.
• Drive strategies for hardware upgrades and uptime improvements.
• Perform trade studies on sequencing, prioritization, and resource allocation.
