Job summary

SA-TECH at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach seeks a FURY IW Engineering Tech IV to support daily FURY IW training operations and mission coordination. You will engage with Navy stakeholders, script system operations, and provide hands-on training to personnel across duties and locations.

The role requires experience with CRY/IW/EW/IO domains, RF operations, and secure Navy networks. A DoD background and ability to travel are beneficial for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Proficient in cryptologic warfare, information warfare, EW and IO concepts.
• Experience with Navy secured networks and WLAN/WiFi connectivity.
• Understanding of RF operations and waveform basics.
• Familiarity with networks, switches, routers and security basics.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, script and execute FURY IW system operations per customer requirements.
• Coordinate with surface and sub-surface teams to collect data and provide remote assistance.
• Assist Mission Coordinators by assessing fleet performance during IW training missions.
• Provide training to contract and military personnel on new IW systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and manage equipment inventories and work orders.

At NAS Oceana located at Virginia Beach, VA, SA-TECH supports the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) that covers the development, integration, management and support of an integrated program to enable a continuous, multi-domain, Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training platform across multiple physical training locations. Together with our partners, SA-TECH is helping integrate the Navy Combined Tactical Training Range (NCTTR) and the Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) into the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) environment.

SA-TECH is currently looking to hire a FURY IW Engineering Tech IV at NAS Oceana (Virginia Beach, VA) to assist FURY IW Mission Coordinators with daily FURY IW training operations. This position reports to the FURY IW Senior Mission Coordinator.

Specific duties include (but are not limited to):

• Plan, coordinate, script, and execute FURY IW system operations in support of customer requirements.
• Coordinate with surface SSES and sub-surface teams to collect performance data, provide remote assistance, and evaluate IW training operations.
• Assist IW Mission Coordinators to provide assessment to Fleet stakeholders of unit and group performance during IW training mission execution.
• Provide training to contract and military personnel on new systems to support IW training requirements.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, maintain equipment inventories and develop work orders as required.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrade installations to current and future IW range systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by IW Mission Coordinators and IW Technician V.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Will be required to travel to support other Training Range locations worldwide.
• Will be required to be underway with periodic at-sea embarakations on Training Support Vessels TSVs) to support afloat IW/IO operations.
• Shift work may be required to meet the needs of a worldwide customer base.
• Schedules are based on mission schedule and Fleet requirements.

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent is required, although an Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline is desired.
• At least four (4) years of experience working with Cryptologic Warfare (CRY), Information Warfare (IW), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Information Operations (IO).
• Experience working with Navy IT secured networked systems and WIFI connectivity.
• Basic knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) operations.
• Experience working with networks, switches, routers, etc.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) operations, to include HF/VHF/UHF Electronic Support (ES), Electronic Attack (EA) operations, RF systems and waveform propagation fundamentals.
• Detailed knowledge and experience working with air, surface, and/or sub-surface EW/IW/IO systems and operations.
• Possess a current Network+ and/or Security+ certification (preferred).
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Preferred experience includes:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Navy Cryptologic systems, to include SSEE Increment E/F maritime systems and signals analysis tools.
  • Knowledge and experience working with FURY IW Range system, HF ALE radios, and other remote radio operations.
  • Experience working with afloat and ashore command staff coordination.
  • Knowledge and experience working with tactical training ranges and operations.
  • May be required to qualify Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF).
• Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
• U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
• All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
