Responsibilities

• Works on a moving conveyor belt using both hands; spreads or styles product by hand on the belt.
• Performs multiple types of packing and weighing.
• Pulls bones from product; inspects, grades and removes product that does not meet standards.
• Participates as a member of the Team and supports development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices.
• Follows Simmons operating systems principles and objectives including quality, security, LEAN and company policies; communicates concerns and improvement ideas.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
• Physical Activities: Move or lift up to 55 pounds; work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty environments during the shift.

Description

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Works on a moving conveyor belt using both hands. Spreads or styles product by hand on the belt;

Participates as a member of the Team.

Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
