Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an Industrial Furnace Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain heat-treating equipment across our sites. This hands-on role requires strong electrical and mechanical skills, and a commitment to safety and reliability.

You will work with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime, read schematics, and document activities in our CMMS, while adhering to LOTO procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of verifiable electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Associate degree or higher in a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Must have valid driver's license and pass a pre-employment medical screening and background check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • No per diem and no relocation funding.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on heat-treat furnaces and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems, including 120V, 240V, and 480V power systems, AC/DC power supplies, control circuits, and integrated electrical components.
  • Maintain, repair, and install motors, pumps, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, refrigeration units, and production equipment.
  • Analyze equipment malfunctions and collaborate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on industrial refrigeration and cooling systems associated with furnace operations.
  • Generate, document, and track maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and safe work practices.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other maintenance support equipment when required.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a maintenance team.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.

Industrial Furnace Technician

The Industrial Furnace Technician is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of industrial heat‑treating equipment, including chemical and thermal carburizing, nitriding, and vacuum furnaces. This role requires strong electrical and mechanical expertise to ensure equipment reliability, production efficiency, and compliance with all safety standards.

Industrial Furnace Technician

The Industrial Furnace Technician is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of industrial heat‑treating equipment, including chemical and thermal carburizing, nitriding, and vacuum furnaces. This role requires strong electrical and mechanical expertise to ensure equipment reliability, production efficiency, and compliance with all safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial heat‑treating furnaces and related equipment.

Qualifications Required For This Position
  • Minimum of five (5) years of verifiable electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in a heat‑treating, industrial manufacturing, or similar heavy industrial environment.
  • Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Experience operating forklifts and scissor lifts is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical screening and background check.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • No per diem and no relocation funding.
