Job summary

Responsibilities include managing slag flow, tapping lead, reliving the Chief Operator, and working with feed materials to maintain continuous operation. Strong teamwork and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Operate Reverb and Electric Arc Furnaces efficiently.
• Maintain attention to safety and environmental programs.
• Be able to read/write and communicate in English.
• Work as part of a Furnace team and with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain orderly and clean work area per 5S requirements.
• Monitor furnace operation and report discrepancies to Supervisor.
• Perform furnace repairs and refractory replacement as needed.
• Fills in positions in the Furnace department (e.g., Payloader driver, slag side, lead side).
• Tapping lead from the Reverb Furnace and relieving Chief Operator as needed.
• Maintain slag flow and inspect equipment for failures.
• Manage slag launder, tap lead out of the lead well when required.
• Assist with feed material handling ( coke and reagents).
• Adhere to all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
