Job summary

RTX at the Clayville, NY site is seeking an onsite furnace operator to perform cleaning, monitoring and securing operations for a vacuum atomization furnace. The role requires following verbal and written instructions to execute repetitive tasks during the atomization process.

You will assist in preparing raw material charges, operating the furnace control board, and making minor repairs while maintaining housekeeping.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or GED) required in US.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, monitoring and securing operations to set up a vacuum atomization furnace.
• Work from verbal and written instructions to perform repetitive tasks during the atomization process.
• Assist in preparing raw material charges, running the furnace control board, making minor repairs, and carry out housekeeping duties.
• Assist in removing and replacing furnace components, cleaning interior of the furnace chamber and seals.
• Carry out piping/hosing connections to furnace lid and tank as directed.
• Transport materials and operate equipment safely, adhering to CORE and EH&S guidelines.
