Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Enrollment or completion of a accredited mortuary science program is required by state licensing.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Able to meet state licensing requirements for funeral service.
• Previous experience in a funeral home or related setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with families.

Responsibilities

• Support licensed funeral directors in coordinating and conducting services with professionalism.
• Assist families during the arrangement process with compassionate customer service.
• Assist with care and preparation of the deceased and related tasks.
• Prepare required documentation, permits, and online records accurately.
• Coordinate service logistics including vehicle operation, ushering, setup, and breakdown.
• Support cremation and burial arrangements with proper documentation.
• Maintain compliance with licensing requirements at all times.
