Position Summary

As Manager of Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you join an exclusive team of leaders responsible for the implementation of Walk to End Alzheimer’s®—the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The event is the second‑largest peer‑to‑peer fundraising event in the United States and is recognized as one of the fastest growing walk events. In 2024 the event was named the #2 peer‑to‑peer fundraiser and achieved the largest dollar growth among the top 30 programs.

Responsibilities
  • Build sustainable corporate and community relationships to achieve event revenue goals, increase community participation, and enhance brand awareness.
  • Recruit, manage, and coach volunteers to implement best practices that meet or exceed fundraising goals, or assimilate custom training and leverage sales or relationship‑development experience to lead volunteers.
  • Manage multiple volunteer‑led mass‑market events simultaneously, generating year‑over‑year revenue growth.
  • Create a positive, inclusive team environment, fostering long‑term community relationships.
  • Achieve or surpass designated revenue and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, and community partnerships.
  • Prospect, cultivate, and steward event teams, sponsors, and participants.
  • Communicate effectively, manage budgets, train volunteers, set timelines and milestones, and use data to inform decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals, or 3–5 years of successful sales experience meeting targets.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Confident, goal‑oriented, self‑starter who works independently with limited supervision and collaborates with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture corporate relationships and partnerships.
  • Capable of managing large numbers of volunteers at various expertise levels with diplomacy.
  • Experience working with diverse communities, promoting inclusion, and operating in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with strong follow‑through.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time by car, including occasional overnight or air travel; valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, good driving record, and proof of insurance mandatory.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends for meetings, Walk events, and wrap‑around activities.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs. of materials.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media, and ability to learn Luminate/Convio software quickly.

Employment Type: Full time (37.5 hours per week)
Position Grade: 205

The expected salary range for this role is $55,000–$70,000. A performance‑based incentive opportunity up to $13,000 is available depending on portfolio size and quarterly goal achievement.

Reports To: Director, Walk to End Alzheimer’s
