It takes genuine compassion, patience, and the ability to make someone feel heard, even in a brief conversation on the street or at an event.

This is a face-to-face fundraising role that represents causes and charities directly to the public. You'll be starting conversations with strangers, listening to what matters to them, and helping them see how their support can genuinely make a difference. It's not about pressure or persuasion — it's about connection. The people who do this well are naturally warm, curious about others, and comfortable being open and human with someone they've just met.

No fundraising or sales experience is necessary. What matters far more is empathy — the ability to genuinely care about the person in front of you and the cause you're representing. We'll train you in everything else: how to structure a conversation, how to handle objections with grace, and how to turn a two-minute chat into lasting support for a cause that needs it.

A typical day:

• Head out to your event location (high street, shopping centre, festival, or public event) with your team
• Approach members of the public and start genuine conversations about the cause you're representing
• Share the charity's story and explain how support makes a real difference
• Guide interested people through signing up as a supporter or donor
• Debrief with your team at the end of the day — sharing what worked, what didn't, and learning from every conversation
