Capital Group is seeking a Fundamental Research Group Associate (Biotech) in New York or San Francisco. You will work with Investment Professionals to drive deep long-term biotech research, generate investment ideas, and contribute to the investment process through rigorous analysis and reporting.

You will monitor biotech holdings, develop financial models, and translate scientific findings into actionable insights, leveraging AI tools to enhance research quality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of investment research experience (buy-side or sell-side).
• MD or PhD in a relevant scientific field; MD candidates should have lab/research experience.
• Strong track record of top accomplishments throughout education and career.
• Experience statistically analyzing clinical trials, MOA, and PPV-supported findings.
• Ability to assess biotech scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial developments.

You will partner with Investment Professionals on their coverage to help generate investment ideas and work as a key contributor to the investment process. This includes monitoring holdings by researching and analyzing companies and related industries, financial modeling, drafting reports, facilitating meetings with management teams, sell-side firms and industry experts. **Key Requirements:** * You have a minimum of 2 years of investment research experience in buy-side research or sell-side research.* You hold an MD or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline. For candidates with an MD, prior laboratory or research experience is required.* You have a consistent track record of top accomplishments at every step of your educational and professional career.
