Job summary

Our client, a hedge fund with private-equity style structures, seeks a Fund Controller to lead the fund accounting operation and own firm and client books. You will review NAV/fees, supervise portfolio valuation, and oversee audits and tax filings across the private fund complex.

The role requires 4–8 years of relevant experience, hedge fund background, and strong knowledge of audits, tax, and international equity/derivatives. Public/private accounting experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of relevant experience.
• Hedge fund experience required.
• Experience with hedge fund audits, tax, and management company accounting.
• Experience with international equity and derivatives (total return swaps and credit default swaps).
• Experience in public accounting, private accounting, or a combination of both.

Responsibilities

• Directing the fund accounting operation across 10 private trading funds and owning all firm and client books and records.
• Reviewing and approving NAV and fee calculations for client accounts.
• Supervising securities portfolio valuation, including resolution of pricing discrepancies.
• Signing off on annual audits and tax filings across the private fund complex.
• Authorizing cash transfers and vendor payments across firm and client accounts.
• Maintaining relationships with service providers, including fund administrators, prime brokers, custodians, auditors, and tax accountants.
• Performing periodic reviews of private fund documentation.
• Confirming compliance with client advisory agreements.
• Managing investor reporting across varied formats and handling ad hoc investor inquiries.
• Overseeing investor capital activity, including capital calls, transfers, and redemptions.
