Job summary

A leading alternative asset manager is seeking a highly motivated Associate Fund Accountant to support month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting for private investment funds. The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach, able to work independently and collaboratively. This full-time position requires onsite presence five days a week, making it essential for candidates to be detail-oriented and committed to excellence in financial operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in audit with asset management clients or in-house fund accounting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial tie-outs.
• Prepare and post daily journal entries while maintaining accurate internal shadow books.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations between internal records and third-party fund administrators.
• Track and maintain fund expense schedules to ensure accurate allocation and reporting.
• Assist with capital calls and distributions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
• Support the investment valuation process in coordination with internal teams and external service providers.
• Respond to investor data requests in a timely and accurate manner.
• Serve as a primary liaison to the fund administrator to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare schedules and documentation to support the annual audit process.
