Job summary
A leading alternative asset manager is seeking a highly motivated Associate Fund Accountant to support month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting for private investment funds. The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach, able to work independently and collaboratively. This full-time position requires onsite presence five days a week, making it essential for candidates to be detail-oriented and committed to excellence in financial operations.
Qualifications
2+ years in audit with asset management clients or in-house fund accounting.
Responsibilities
Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial tie-outs.
Prepare and post daily journal entries while maintaining accurate internal shadow books.
Perform daily cash reconciliations between internal records and third-party fund administrators.
Track and maintain fund expense schedules to ensure accurate allocation and reporting.
Assist with capital calls and distributions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
Support the investment valuation process in coordination with internal teams and external service providers.
Respond to investor data requests in a timely and accurate manner.
Serve as a primary liaison to the fund administrator to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
Prepare schedules and documentation to support the annual audit process.
