Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead the decomposition of vehicle and system requirements into ECU-level specifications, align them with software releases and sprints, and maintain traceability from requirements through validation and release documentation.

The role emphasizes strong coordination with OEMs, suppliers, and stakeholders, plus hands-on use of JAMA/DOORS/Polarion, JIRA, and GitHub in an automotive context, including CAN/ECU interfaces.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in automotive embedded systems or ECU software.
• Strong knowledge of automotive development lifecycle, software releases, and agile execution.
• Understanding of Bluetooth protocols/profiles such as BLE, GATT, GAP, pairing, bonding, advertising, scanning, and secure communication for Bluetooth Module ECU applications.
• Understanding of NFC concepts such as reader/card emulation, tag detection, pairing/handshake flows, authentication, secure access, and diagnostics for NFC Module ECU applications.
• Ability to write clear, testable, supplier-ready specifications covering logic, flows, data, and interfaces.
• Strong communication skills for OEM, supplier, validation, and stakeholder coordination.
• Experience with requirement management tools such as JAMA, DOORS, Polarion, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA for backlog, sprint, defect, and dashboard management.
• Working knowledge of GitHub or similar version control tools.
• Understanding of CAN communication, ECU interfaces, diagnostics, and body/connectivity features.

Responsibilities

• Decompose vehicle/system requirements into clear ECU-level requirements for supplier implementation.
• Develop and maintain functional specifications aligned with software releases and sprint commitments.
• Maintain traceability across requirements, validation artifacts, and release documentation.
• Manage JIRA tickets for requirements, defects, sprint planning, validation status, and release readiness.
• Collaborate with OEM teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to resolve clarifications, design gaps, and release dependencies.
• Support project health reporting, risk tracking, and timing feasibility assessments.

Base Salary Range : $110,000 to $140,000 Per Annum
