Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Safety Engineer for the Product Creation & Industrialization function. You will shape safety for next‑generation software‑defined vehicles and work with a cross-disciplinary team to define safety standards.

You will analyze hazards, develop safety concepts, and support verification at multiple system levels, collaborating with systems, hardware, software, and V&V teams to ensure a solid safety case. Hybrid onsite four days per week is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Computer Engineering or related degree.
  • 5 years of experience in Functional Safety.
  • 5 years of experience with products in mass production.
  • 2 years of experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA), Functional Safety Concepts (FSC), and Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS).
  • Produce safety analysis (DFMEA, FTA, DFA, per ISO 26262).
  • Support planning of Safety Verification & Validation activities at different levels of system abstraction.
  • Support the creation of test cases (DVP), their execution and evaluation of the results.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, hardware, software, and V&V stakeholders to deliver a safe product with a comprehensive safety case.

What you'll do...

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $74,300-$124,500., This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900., This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$156,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
