FOUR OAKS FAMILY AND CHILDRENS SERVICES in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Functional Family Specialist for 1st shift, full-time. The role focuses on home-based family therapy, case planning and coordination across school and medical contacts in multiple Iowa counties.

You will conduct weekly one-hour sessions using the Functional Family Therapy model for youths aged 10–18, manage a caseload of 10–15 families for 8–26 weeks, and support discharge planning and resource planning.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, human services, criminal justice or a related field.
• Prior experience in family therapy or youth services preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly home-based family therapy sessions (minimum one hour).
• Use Functional Family Therapy model with adolescents aged 10–18.
• Manage caseload of 10–15 families for 8–26 weeks; maintain schedule flexibility.
• Facilitate community resource planning, case progress evaluation and permanency planning.
• Participate in discharge planning and documentation; interface with schools, medical and psychiatric contacts.

As the Functional Family Specialist you will be responsible for assessing client interactions, formulating interventions based on the identified treatment plan, evaluating the progress of treatment goals and providing direct care services inCerro Gordo, Marshall, Black Hawk & Bremer Counties. The position will be assigned to the 2nd judicial district cases. Specific responsibilities include:

Direct Services

• Provide a minimum ofone-hour weekly, home-based family therapy sessions to clients
• Utilize the Functional Family Therapy model with families who have adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18.
• Hande a caseload of 10 to 15 families, providing services anywhere from eight to 26 weeks.
• Maintain flexibility in schedule to meet families when they are available.

Case Management Implementation

• Facilitate community resource planning, case progress evaluation & permanency planning.
• Participate in discharge planning & documentation.
• Interface with school, medical & psychiatric contacts, referring worker and collaterals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for case management.
