Job summary

The Department of Neurology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, in collaboration with the University of Maryland Medical System, seeks a Tele-Neurologist to provide consultative coverage for Shore Regional Health on Maryland’s Eastern Shore (Easton, MD). This is a fully remote, work-from-home position supporting rural health with a volunteer faculty appointment at UM School of Medicine.

Salary range 168,500 to 300,000 USD.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Medicine in area of specialty.
• 3-5 years of clinical experience.
• CPR required; BLS required; ACLS and/or other relevant certification.
• Board certification/eligibility in area of specialty.
• Demonstrated professionalism and involvement in professional activities.
• Strong communication skills with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide general neurology consults via telemedicine.
• Coverage hours 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM with overnight calls handled telephonically.
• No in-house responsibilities.
• No acute stroke or neurocritical care coverage.
• Supported by APPs assisting with consult coordination and discharge planning.
• Daily routine includes morning tele-rounds and ongoing consult coverage.
• Schedule: 26 weeks per year.
